In a magnificent display Australia came from behind to draw its final pool match with Croatia (Australia B) and go through to the final 16.
Just once boys can you not come from behind???? My heart will not stand it again.

One of my interests is soccer. I have been following the sad, until today, tale of Australia attempting to qualify for the World Cup. Through the shattering defeat by Iran when we had it won to the triumph of beating Uraguay to qualify.
Our first game last night - what a moment when the equaliser went in!!!!!! Tim Cahill you are a legend. Right up there with the God (Micheal Beven - who hit a four of the last ball to win a semi-final). Mind you the Japanese team was playing with 12 members. That referee!!!! An Australian only had to breathe on an opposing player and it was a penalty. The tactics of the Japanese coach to label Australia as dirty players was a masterstroke.
Watching it last night was a real pleasure as I had one of my sons with me who enjoyed it as much as I did. Mind you the bemused look I got from my wife when I was dancing around the kitchen after the first goal was priceless. Thank goodness she did not get the video camera out.
Anyway back to earth next Monday with Brazil - really hope we can at least draw. You never know we might catch Brazil on a bad day and surprise them. I am sure we gave Japan a bit of a shock.
