What I have been Reading

I have been reading the climate change dramitisation book by Kim Stanley Robinson -  Forty Signs on Rain and Fifty Degrees Below.   They are scenerio based and quite realistic.  The strength of the books is that they focus on characters and how people carry on no matter what happens.

I bought the digital editions and I use my PDA and Microsoft Reader to read them.  I cannot see why 1kg of paper should have to be sent from the USA to Perth just so I can read a book.  The digital download is much better.  The only problem is that I have used all my activations for MS Reader.  When you first install MS Reader is has to be activated with a encyption key so you can buy books.  All the books you buy are encoded with this activation key and cannot be read without it.  The really stupid thing is that you get only 6 activations however the activation key is taken from your hard drive's volume key so if you format your hard drive then this takes one activation.  In the 3 years I have been buying books I have formatted my drive and/or replaced my computer a number of times so I have used them all up.  Luckily my PDA still has a valid key however if I have to do a hard reset on it then that will be my last one gone.  I have applied for an extension on my activations to microsoft however after 2 weeks I have had no response.
